Prior to studying TCM, I started shadowing doctors at an early age and explored different focuses in medicine. I found myself engaged and excited by the types of conversations had in non-conventional medical treatment rooms. Questions about lifestyle, how individuals spend their time and nourish themselves, are they happy? My studies took me to conducting public health research focusing on the intersection of traditional medicine and western medicine in Nepal and Ecuador.
The interwoven nature of our emotional experience and physical body is firmly rooted in Chinese Medicine philosophy. I am motivated to hold a mirror for my patients to help them explore patterns and beliefs that play a role in their symptoms. In concert with Chinese medicine I am a firm believer in the science backed approach of functional medicine. This refined perspective on western lab interpretation can be the missing link in a lot of complex cases.
My personal experience with TCM started after a concussion. After navigating late stage Lyme disease, it has been a staple for managing chronic inflammation. I enjoy working with all types of patients, and have expertise in fertility, autoimmune/chronic illness, and pain. It's an honor to hold my patients' hands while they rewrite their health stories.
